Murder Charge for North Hollywood Bouncer
Murder Charge for North Hollywood Bouncer
A bouncer at a North Hollywood bar is facing murder charges, following an altercation with an unruly bar patron. Ernest Reyes, 34, of Arleta, punched Apollo Rodriguez, a bar patron, outside the Star Garden, a topless bar on Lankershim Boulevard, at closing time on December 15.

Rodriguez fell to the ground, then stood up and began to argue with the bouncer again. Reyes punched Rodriguez again, which caused him to fall backward into oncoming traffic. He was struck by a vehicle, which fled the scene before police arrived. He later died from his injuries. Police are still searching for the vehicle that struck Rodriguez. Reyes will be arraigned in Los Angeles Superior Court on January 12, 2017. If convicted, he could receive a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.
