DUI Crash Kills 5-year-old boy in LA
A 24-year old woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI after crashing her car into an occupied apartment in South LA. A family of 5 was in the apartment at the time of the collision.

The father and a 5-year-old boy were pinned underneath the car, and rescuers had to extricate them amid tons of debris and wreckage. Four of the five family members in the apartment at the time were injured and taken to the hospital. The 5-year-old boy later died of his injuries. The driver was also taken to the hospital for injuries she received during the crash.

According to police, the woman told officers that she swerved to avoid another vehicle and lost control of the car. Police later determined that she was driving while intoxicated and arrested her. Investigators do not know whether a second vehicle played a role in the collision.
