DUI Crash in Beverly Hills Kills Two
Two local women died last month following a rollover crash on Little Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills. Authorities arrested the driver, an acquaintance of the victims, for DUI.

According to police, the driver of a BMW X5 SUV lost control of the vehicle, struck a curb and then a tree. The vehicle rolled over following the crash. Six women occupied the vehicle and the force of the collision ejected some of the passengers. One woman died at the scene of the accident. A second woman died later at a hospital from injuries sustained in the crash. Rescue personnel transported the other occupants to the hospital for what they described as minor injuries.

Police identified a Palmdale woman and a Lakewood woman as the decedents in the crash. Following an investigation, police discovered that the driver had a suspended license at the time of the accident. She faces charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, driving on a suspended license and driving without a license.

Beverly Hills DUI Lawyer

When you face a DUI in LA, hire an experienced DUI lawyer like Robert Helfend. Mr. Helfend has more than 30 years of experience in criminal courtroom defense. He takes cases in Los Angeles County and throughout Southern California.

Prosecutors charge the majority of drunk driving cases in California in any given year as misdemeanors. When a crash causes serious injuries or death, prosecutors normally pursue felony charges, instead.

Any drunk driving arrest is serious, but when you face felony charges, your best defense strategy includes hiring an experienced DUI lawyer. Some people make the mistake of attempting to defend themselves. They may also choose lawyers based on price, not on experience. When you take this approach, your choices can result in tragic consequences for you and your family. Do not attempt to defend yourself in court, especially when incarceration is a very real possibility.
