After a DUI arrest, hire an experienced Los Angeles DUI lawyer

If you’ve been arrested for DUI in Southern California, you need the assistance of an experienced criminal defense attorney like Robert Helfend. Mr. Helfend practices criminal defense exclusively and takes cases in Los Angeles County and throughout Southern California. California laws require certain minimum penalties for a first-time DUI conviction. Penalties for successive DUI convictions escalate. Even a first-time conviction for a DUI driving offense can result in jail, fines, the loss of your driving privileges, restricted driving conditions, expensive ignition interlock devices, community service sentences, and increased insurance costs. Depending upon where you’re employed, a DUI conviction could also jeopardize your job and economic well-being.

The pain of a DUI conviction doesn’t end when your sentence has been served. Well after the matter has been settled in court, you’ll still be paying for a DUI conviction, in the form of increased insurance premiums, fines associated with the conviction, and the stigma of having a DUI conviction on your record. A DUI conviction or a history of DUI offenses also could cause prospective employers to reject your job applications!

Following a DUI arrest, a competent DUI attorney can assemble the legal and medical expertise you need to defend yourself in court.
