Burglary Leads to Shooting, Arrests
An off-duty Los Angeles police officer shot two teens who broke into the officer’s San Gabriel home last week. One of the injured burglary suspects was taken by ambulance from the scene with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The other suspect, who was shot in the leg, fled the scene in a vehicle, but later came to a local hospital for treatment.

Burglary rates have tripled in San Gabriel in 2016

The officer, who was home alone at the time of the incident, was not injured. A neighbor, who is a retired physician, rendered medical aid to the injured suspect before police and an ambulance arrived. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the burglary. In addition to the two suspects who were shot, police also arrested two other individuals in connection with the burglary.
