Workers Comp Fraud for Bellflower Woman
Workers Comp Charge for Bellflower Woman
A Bellflower woman has been charged with two counts of workers compensation insurance fraud for misrepresenting work-related injuries. Johana Paredes, who worked at the UCLA Medical Center, claimed that she had injured her wrist while on duty. California Department of Insurance investigators became suspicious of the claim and used video surveillance of Peredes at the gym, showing that she could use her injured arm, wrist and shoulder with no restrictions. Paredes collected nearly $40,000 in disability payments related to her claim.
