A Sherman Oaks rabbi will be tried on child sexual assault charges. The alleged incidents involved two minor females and occurred between 1998 and 2002, when the victims were in their early teens and the accused, Sholom Levitansky, was in his 20’s.
Sexual assault accusations have serious consequences
Levitansky will be in court in December for a preliminary hearing on five counts of oral copulation of a person under 18 years of age, five counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object of a person under 18, and one count of lewd act upon a child.
Levitansky was arrested on September 30 in connection with the sexual assault allegations. He turned himself in to the Santa Monica Police Department. He is currently out on $370,000 bail and has been ordered to have no contact with the victims, and no contact with minor females unless in the presence of another adult who is aware of the sexual assault charges against Levitansky.
