Sex crimes suspect in Beverly Hills assault appears in court
A Los Angeles suspect in an attempted sexual assault in Beverly Hills appeared in court on sex crimes charges. Police say the man followed a pedestrian as she walked home. Initially, he tried speaking with the woman, then he grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her. Investigators said he then fled on a bicycle toward Santa Monica Boulevard.

Using surveillance photographs and DNA evidence, police identified the suspect. The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office charged him with one count of assault to commit rape. He also faces charges of kidnapping to commit rape and assault by force likely to produce great bodily injury.

The suspect is currently being held in lieu of a bail of $1,100,000. He will return to court on August 9 a preliminary hearing related to the case.

Beverly Hills sex crimes lawyer

Sexual offenses are very serious. A conviction usually requires lifetime sex offender registration. This designation can prevent you from finding appropriate housing and employment following the completion of your sentence. When you face charges related to a sex offense, hire an experienced sex crimes lawyer like Robert Helfend.

Mr. Helfend has nearly 35 years of experience in criminal defense. He takes sex offense cases in Los Angeles County and throughout Southern California. Many defense attorneys won’t touch sex offense cases. Either they’re uncomfortable with the charges, or don’t want to confront witnesses. Juries are sympathetic to victims in sex offense cases, so they may see these cases as being too difficult.

Mr. Helfend does not judge his clients based on the charges against them. Instead, he works hard to get the charges against them reduced or dropped. When that’s not possible, he works toward the best possible resolution of the case. In addition, Mr. Helfend manages each case personally. That means you’ll work directly with him on your defense.

Don’t settle for an inexperienced attorney, or one who doesn’t really want to take your case. Contact Robert Helfend or call toll-free at (800) 834-6434, (310) 456-3317, (818) 591-2809 or (805) 273-5611 for an immediate consultation on your Los Angeles County sex crimes case.
