Los Angeles authorities arrested a 56-year-old man in connection with sex crimes dating back to the 1990’s. Police say the suspect faces six felony counts of continuous sexual abuse, rape and committing lewd acts on a child. According to investigators, four of the five cases occurred in the 1990’s. The most recent case arose in 2012. Investigators
Investigators say the suspect began abusing young girls while living in Pacoima in the early 1990’s. Police do not believe that the gap between cases means that the man stopped abusing children. They believe that he may have continuously committed unreported crimes against local girls. Police began an aggressive investigation of the suspect when the first victim came forward. As a result of their investigation, police located an additional four victims.
At the time of his first arrest, the man posted a $100,000 bail. Following a hearing earlier this month, a judge ordered the man held on a $2.1M bond while he awaits trial. He has not posted bail and remains in custody at the Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles.
