Prosecutors have charged a convicted felon with three gun charges, including two counts of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs, as well as multiple charges related to identity theft, drug possession.

David Castaneda, 33, and Jonathan Gonzales, 29, were arrested in Montebello following a traffic stop. Castaneda was found to be in possession of multiple credit cards belonging to other people. Gonzalez, who has been charged with identity theft, was found in possession of about 20 credit cards, driver licenses, health insurance cards and credit card receipts in other people’s names. Following the arrest, police obtained a search warrant for Castaneda’s home and discovered two handguns, nearly 1 pound of methamphetamine, and property obtained through fraud.
